If there was a Paper Source in Rochester (or even within a 100 mile radius) I would be at both of these spectacular events!

On February 21, 2009 Paper Source invites you for an afternoon of complimentary demos, make-and-takes and inspiration for your big day!

11:30 am – Announcing the Big Day
12:45 pm – Inspired Invitations
2:00 pm – Tasteful Tabletop Décor

On March 5, 2009 the wonderful PS invites you to the Exclusive Wedding Suite from 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Sip sparkling champagne and enjoy chocolate dipped strawberries while you create a full suite of wedding samples — including a select group of letterpress invitations, escort cards, favors and table accents.

These events are at all Paper Source store locations! Have fun! If anyone attends, please report back! I would love to hear about it!

At home studio

Bill and I are gearing up to start looking for a house! I get so excited because all I want my future house to have is a place for my own “in house” craft studio! I am sooo jealous of the lucky gals below:

Yvonne Eijkenduijn from Yvestown Blog:

Cassi Griffin of Bella Dia:

Sharilyn Wright of Lovely Design:

Also, did anyone know that flickr has a whole photo sharing pool dedicated to craftrooms? Crazy I tell you! Enjoy!

Is the creativity gone?

Have I lost it? I am totally un motivated to really do anything super duper creative lately. I am even uninterested in all the blogs I stalk. I wonder what it is? Maybe it’s all the brain power that I have utilized to come up with Christmas presents for everyone! Wrapping presents has also sucked my creative juices from my body. I am the type that needs the present to look just as good as the gift!

Lately I have been working on our Save The Dates for the “big day”. I am stamping all the text! I caught my letter “i” stamp in Matty’s mouth yesterday – close call – we saved poor letter “i”. Thank goodness he can still stamp!

Holiday gifts 2008

I have decided to take a break from all things wedding and move to a more important subject: holiday gifts!

I am VERY organized when it comes to holiday time (shocker). I feel it is less stressful on myself (and my wallet) if I continually buy from the end of October to Christmas. This season, I am doing more handmade gifts too. Who doesn’t love a handmade gift? Here are some of my gift suggestions:

For the new homeowner:

The MacBeth Collection – This website has great tin containers, tubs, totes and trays that you can customize with hundreds of colorful patterns! It’s easy, you pick the container you like, pick the pattern you like, and voila! Here are a few of the containers:

A few of the patterns from the design collection:

For the person who has everything:

The Week – Each week The Week editors comb the world’s best publications for you – unearthing, condensing, and refining the most important news, opinion, and analysis – all to give you hours of news in just minutes of reading.

For the world traveler:

The Jack Georges Milano Collection passport covers. Gosh – I wish I was more of an international traveler! milano_3707_passport_cover1

If anyone has any gift ideas – I would love to hear from you! I am going to keep updating holiday gift ideas until Christmas!

Just Orange

Oh how I love the color orange! Especially this time of year in upstate New York. The air is cold and crisp, the sky bright blue with not a cloud in the sky (sigh), and the leaves are not to be believed! Fall weddings are the way to go!

The pumpkin centerpieces are from www.myecochicwedding.com.  What a great way to utilize the pumpkin! Chivary chairs are my FAVORITE! This chivary chair photo is courtesy of the knot. It is adorned with an orange ribbon and flowers. A great detail to each chair! The painting titled “Oranges” is by Lynsey Shanahan. The print below that is from groovy inclinations on Etsy. Pieces of artwork scattered throughout the reception is a great conversation piece! The invitation suite titled “Autumn Harvest” is courtesy of Milkmaid Press. Your guests can enjoy a hot apple cider to wind down the evening. The fall boutonnieres are courtesy of Martha Stewart. Guests can take home a jar of honey (Dean and Delucia) to remember the day by. Fabrics from tonic living can be used for photo booths or table runners to tie everything together!

P.S. You’re probably wondering “Is Meredith getting married in the fall”? You would think so, but no, I am getting married in the spring. My cousin is getting married in the fall and I did not want to have our wedding right before (or after) his!

A friends wedding!

One of my best friends, Ms. Erica Norris is getting married June 5, 2009 at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in CO. You have to check out this website – what a cool place! Instead of having me as a bridesmaid, I was honored to have been asked to help plan the wedding. As Erica puts it I am her “go to girl”!

Erica’s colors are blue and orange. I created this inspiration board for her to see my vision!

The top row of images are courtesy of the knot. I love Erica’s idea for favors. Erica and her soon to be hubbie are going to donate to a breast cancer charity in honor of Erica’s mom. The deep persimmon jumper is from JCrew as well as the cool leather flip flops (JCrew never disappoints)! The incredible sunset is a photo I found on flickr from kawkawpa! I am all for thinking outside the box when it comes to boutonnieres. Check out Lalalaurie on etsy.com. She creates one of a kind bouts for any groomsman! Plus – it never wilts! The flower on the bottom row, center is a scarlet begonia (I could not give credit to this photo, supposedlt the webpage is gone). Lastly is another image from the knot, a great idea for a bridal bouquet!

My personal inspiration board for our wedding!

I see all these inspiration boards when I make my daily blog rounds, and I figured I would create my own to keep me inspired and not overwhelmed! I have found that it is very easy to go off path. The goal of this inspiration board is for just that purpose: to keep me inspired!

The geometric circle fabric is titled “Disco Dot” from Tonic Living. The beautiful orange bouquet is posted on the knot and the pop pom table setting are compliments of Martha Stewart Weddings. I found the daisy hairpin (I may have to order a few) on etsy. The gerber daisy photos were taken by my sweet sister Lauren. I love this sweet little black cocktail dress from JCrew as well as the shoes! Cute mini photo books are from Paper Source (remember the giveaway drawing is tomorrow at midnight)! And Louloubell never disappoints with the most awesome zipper pouches. I love this one in the classic damask print! These calligraphy samples on etsy inspired me to research taking calligraphy lessons!
